Contact Is Not Connection
Digital life surrounds us with social signals. We can follow, message, react, subscribe, and interact with people and systems that feel familiar, responsive, and meaningful. But contact is not the same as connection. For children and adolescents growing up with creators, influencers, group chats, and AI companions, learning the difference between being responded to and being known may be one of the most important relational skills of the digital age.
